MY ZIMBABWE DIARY IX: THE CITY OF KINGS
June 15, 2016…
The 2016 Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo is billed to kick off on June 16. I got up early in a bid to try and capture the sunrise.
Afterwards, I went back to bed, not really sleeping just lying down idling. I was told there will be two press conferences for us to cover and the first would be in the morning at 10.00, while the second would be in the afternoon.
That meant Michael and I are not expected to join the rest of the group who will continue the pre-Sanganai tour by exploring the city. Well, things changed. I was on my way to have breakfast when I learnt the morning press briefing had been cancelled, so I was expected to join the tour.
The bus was waiting to leave, so I dashed upstairs to my room to grab my camera. There goes my breakfast. We went to the Natural History Museum, Bulawayo and it was an enriching experience. There was so much to see…
Afterwards, we inspected a couple of accommodation facilities before returning to the hotel in time for the press conference. As soon as that was done we had lunch and we were free for the rest of the day.
I took a long nap and when I got up in the evening, I took a stroll around the area. It was getting chilly as it got dark, so I retired early…
