DUBAI: ANDAZ DUBAI THE PALM SET FOR DEC. 1, 2019 OPENING DATE
December 1, 2019 has been set by Hyatt as the official opening date of Andaz Dubai The Palm, Dubai‘s first Andaz-branded hotel – and the second in the United Arab Emirates after Andaz Capital Gate Abu Dhabi.
Andaz Dubai The Palm is located on a 300m-long private beach, within walking distance of the upcoming Nakheel Shopping Mall. Located on the right trunk of the shoreline, the two 15-storey towers will house 217 guest rooms and 116 designer residences.
The design includes local touches throughout – from textiles inspired by Sadu, geometrical embroidery on traditional hand-woven fabrics to beds framed by a canopy of waved wood to create a modern interpretation of a Bedouin tent. Contemporary art pieces showcasing up and coming local artists’ works will blend with the hotel interiors.
The property will offer a variety of food & beverage options: The Locale, a neighbourhood eatery; Hanami, a Japanese concept which offers a take on traditional izakaya; The Andaz Lounge, which offers plush seating, large tables and a library of books; Knox, an underground urban speakeasy bar.
From a MICE perspective, Andaz Dubai The Palm offers approximately 590 square metres of functional space consisting of a show-kitchen, meeting rooms, living room and a spacious terrace overlooking the beach. Complemented by advanced audio-visual technology, Andaz Salons are versatile spaces, accommodating everything from corporate meetings to social parties.
Located on the 14th floor, Ora offers a menu of facial and body treatments for singles and couples. On the same floor, guests can make use of the adult-only Cabana pool area where the tiles form a modern Arabic mosaic. Four palm tree-inspired umbrellas designed by local Emirati artist Khalid Shafar flank each corner. The hotel also offers a fitness centre and yoga terrace.
The first Andaz property in Dubai was initially meant to be located within La Mer, but that property will open in 2020 as a Hyatt Centric – the first in the UAE.
