Ethiopian Cargo Powers Up: Strategic AI Partnership Puts Africa’s Largest Network on Global Digital Maps

Addis Ababa, EthiopiaEthiopian Cargo & Logistics Services, Africa’s largest and fastest-growing air cargo operator, has selected CargoAi as its strategic partner to accelerate the digitalization of its booking operations. This was made known via a press release dated 17 September 2026 by Ethiopian Airlines. The collaboration marks a key milestone in the carrier’s digital roadmap, giving freight forwarders worldwide real-time rate visibility and eBooking access through CargoAi’s platform.

Under the integration, more than 30,000 freight forwarders across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia gain seamless access to Ethiopian Cargo’s General Cargo and Express services via both the CargoMART marketplace and direct connections to leading Transport Management Systems (TMS) through CargoCONNECT. Freight forwarders can book Ethiopian Cargo capacity directly on CargoMART starting 17 Sept 2026, extending the airline’s reach across multiple booking environments within its service network.

The deal also unlocks CargoAi’s interline capabilities for Ethiopian Cargo, enabling more efficient and transparent collaboration with airline partners through digital interline bookings and shared capacity management. The move is the second major digital development for the carrier this year, following its March announcement that it would join WebCargo by Freightos, the digital booking and payment platform.

“Digitalization is a key pillar of Ethiopian Cargo’s long-term strategy,” said Mr. Dereje Derero, Managing Director of Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services. “Partnering with CargoAi allows us to bring our services closer to freight forwarders worldwide by offering a modern and seamless booking experience. This step reinforces our commitment to innovation and to delivering agile, data-driven solutions that meet the evolving needs of the global air cargo industry.”

“We are proud to welcome Ethiopian Cargo to the CargoAi ecosystem,” said Matthieu Petot, CEO of CargoAi. “Ethiopian Cargo is a global leader in air cargo operations, and this partnership reflects a shared ambition to drive digital excellence.
