Clevenard Global Award 2026: Another Feather in St. Ange’s Crowded Cap

In the world of global tourism and diplomacy, certain names become synonymous with excellence. For those of us in the More Cream Than Coffee circle, we know that name well: Dr. Alain St. Ange.

Today, we celebrate another milestone for a man who has made a career out of breaking barriers. Clevenard have officially announced that Alain will be honored with the Clevenard Global Award 2026 this August in Alicante, Spain.

The Latest in a Lifetime of Accolades

While the Clevenard Global Award is an elite, non-competitive distinction reserved for those with a lasting worldwide impact, it is far from the first time the world has stood up to applaud Alain’s work.

In fact, this award is simply the latest “feather in the cap” for the former Seychelles Minister. Over the years, Alain has been decorated by nations and institutions across the globe, including:

  • The Mahatma Gandhi Award in India for strengthening Indo-Seychelles relations.
  • A Plaque of Honour from the House of Lords in London.
  • The “Man of the Year” Award (2023/2024) by the African Asian Union (AFASU) in Egypt.
  • Lifetime Achievement Awards from PATWA at ITB Berlin.
  • Honorary Keys to the Cities of Detroit and Tuskegee in the USA.

From being named a “Commandeur de l’Ordre National” in Madagascar to his recent recognition for literary excellence following his autobiography My Journey, Alain’s impact is as diverse as it is deep.

A Visionary in Alicante

The Clevenard Global Award celebrates leadership that transcends professional titles. It’s about the spirit of connection—the “bridge-building” that Alain has championed since his early days as the Director of Marketing for the Seychelles. Upon hearing the news, Alain remained characteristically humble:

“I’m truly honoured to receive this award from Clevenard… This recognition highlights the importance of working together and staying committed to positive change. I look forward to connecting with everyone in Alicante and moving our efforts forward.”

Editor’s Note: There are some people who don’t just occupy a space; they expand it. Alain is one of those people. While the world recognizes him as a powerhouse in tourism and a former Minister, we’ve had the privilege of calling him a friend and seeing the man behind the titles—the one who truly believes the world is better when we are connected.

Watching the Clevenard Open Project 2026 recognize his life’s work is a moment of immense pride. Alain, congratulations on yet another well-deserved honor. We look forward to seeing you take that stage in Alicante.— Niyi David
