High Alert: Seychelles Government Issues Critical Travel Warning for Middle East
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora of the Republic of Seychelles has issued an official travel advisory urging all Seychellois citizens travelling to, transiting through, or residing in the Middle East to exercise a high degree of caution amid an evolving regional security situation.
Why This Advisory Was Issued
While several countries across the Middle East remain stable, the region continues to experience heightened tensions, armed conflict in certain areas, sporadic missile and drone activity, and civil unrest. These conditions can change rapidly and with little warning, potentially impacting personal safety and travel plans.

- Kuwait

- Palestine

Security conditions vary significantly between these destinations. Citizens are strongly encouraged to assess the specific situation in their country of travel or residence.
Key Risks to Be Aware Of

Seychellois nationals are advised to monitor local media and official government announcements, avoid large public gatherings and demonstrations, and remain vigilant in public spaces such as shopping malls, places of worship, and transportation hubs.
High-Risk Zones
The Ministry strongly advises against travel to areas experiencing active armed conflict, including border zones affected by cross-border hostilities, regions under active military operations, and locations subject to local travel restrictions. Those currently in high-risk areas are encouraged to relocate to safer locations where feasible.

Seychellois citizens living in the Middle East should:
- Keep valid residency permits and passports at all times
- Register and maintain updated contact details with the Seychelles Embassy in Abu Dhabi
- Develop personal contingency and evacuation plans
- Ensure access to essential medications and supplies
- Avoid acting on unverified information circulating on social media
Air Travel Disruptions
Flight schedules across the region may change with little notice. Airspace over Iran, Israel, Iraq, Jordan, the UAE, Qatar, and Kuwait has been reported as closed or restricted. Travellers are advised to:
