Kenya’s Jambojet Bags AFRAA’s Airline of The Year and KeTIBA’s Best Domestic Airline

Jambojet, East Africa’s leading regional airline, has clinched two major industry accolades, as it further cemented its position as a trailblazer in African Aviation. The regional powerhouse won the Airline of The Year for the Best Improved Financial Results by the African Airlines Association (AFRAA). In addition, the airline bagged the Best Domestic Airline at Kenya Travel Business Awards (KeTIBA).

AFRAA recognized Jambojet’s remarkable financial performance, attaining the best improved profit ratio among AFRAA membership in 2024. The airline recorded a 16% increase in revenues, and an 11% net profit margin, making 2024 the most profitable year yet for Jambojet. The award was presented at the 57th Annual General Assembly held in Luanda, Angola.

Jambojet also won the Domestic Airline of the year at the 2nd annual KeTIBA Gala by the Kenya Association of Travel Agents, recognizing the airline for reliable and high quality service.

Speaking on the double recognition, Jambojet’s CEO & MD, Karanja Ndegwa said, “It is an honour to be recognized locally and in the continent for such achievements despite the challenging operating environment.  The awards are a testament to the trust that our customers have placed in us, the dedication of our team, strategic discipline and focus on operational excellence. We extend our appreciation to our valued customers and stakeholders for their continued support and belief in us.”

Now in its 11th year of operations, Jambojet has flown over 9 million passengers, and commands 53% of the domestic market share. These accolades come at a pivotal time, as the airline looks to expand its footprint in the region, increase the number of aircraft in its fleet, sustain profits and enhance value creation for the company, its stakeholders and customers.
