Ethiopian Airlines Adds Three Destinations to Domestic Network
Addis Ababa, 18 February 2026: Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest network operating carrier, has announced plans to inaugurate three new domestic airports and launch passenger flights to these destinations by mid-April 2026. The new airports are located in Negele Borena, Gore Metu, and Debre Markos.
Expanding Domestic Connectivity
The airline plans to operate thrice-weekly passenger flights to each destination. With these additions, Ethiopian Airlines’ domestic network will expand to 26 destinations, significantly strengthening air connectivity throughout Ethiopia.

Commenting on the expansion, Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mr. Mesfin Tasew stated:

Continued Infrastructure Modernization
As Ethiopian Airlines prepares to integrate these three new destinations into its network, the carrier remains focused on modernizing the domestic travel experience through infrastructure renovation and enhancement. This follows the airline’s inauguration of Yabello airport as its 23rd domestic destination in 2025.
