We maintained contact once we found ourselves on the 2025 MKTE hosted media WhatsApp platform. Once we cleared immigration, we found the KTB team and after a few minutes to ensure there weren’t others, they took us to the vehicle and we were on our way straight to our accommodation.

Check-in was smooth, and the team graciously kept the restaurant open so we could eat a late dinner. Luggage arrived ahead of us, and riding the elevator up to the eighth floor felt unhurried and pleasant — Muzak drifting down the expansive corridor, soft lighting and a quiet, polished ambience. I found Room 820 tucked into the far corner of the floor. Sliding my smart key into the holder, the lights came on and the television greeted me by name with a welcome message. A signed note from the general manager on the table was a thoughtful finish. Small touches like these — the lighting, the music, the personal welcome — made arrival feel warm and considered.

Service is attentive. I remember I asked when they were going to have mushroom soup as soup of the day. The chef apologized that it wasn’t on offer that day and offered to make it. I told him not to bother, switched off and went to get my dinner. Lo and behold in a couple of minutes, I was still at the dinner table with a couple of friends when a steaming bowl of mushroom soup arrive! He went through all that trouble! And the soup was so much, one of my friends had most of it – with pleasure too.

Service across the property is polished and consistently warm, from reception to the restaurant. Staff interactions feel authentic rather than scripted, and the hotel’s operational choices reflect a growing sustainability ethic.
