Minor Hotels Makes West Africa Debut with NH Collection Accra
International hotel group Minor Hotels has announced its first foray into West Africa, signing an agreement to bring the NH Collection brand to Accra, Ghana. The new property — NH Collection Accra — is slated to open in 2030, marking a significant milestone in the group’s ongoing African expansion strategy.
The deal was unveiled at THINC Middle East 2026, signalling Minor Hotels’ growing appetite for gateway city markets across the continent. With more than 640 properties spanning 59 countries, the group is no stranger to ambitious global growth — and Ghana’s capital is its latest target.
A Prime Location at the Heart of Accra
The 200-key hotel will sit at the centre of Accra’s commercial and diplomatic core, within close proximity to Jubilee House and Kotoka International Airport. It forms part of a broader mixed-use development that will also incorporate retail and office space — a deliberate design choice aimed at creating a self-contained urban destination rather than a standalone hospitality asset.

The development is being led by Swami India Ghana Limited, a real estate group with an established track record across West Africa and the Middle East.
Targeting a Growing Market
Ghana has steadily cemented its reputation as one of West Africa’s most stable and business-friendly economies, attracting increasing flows of corporate, diplomatic and long-stay travellers. NH Collection Accra is positioned squarely to serve that demand, blending the brand’s signature balance of sophistication and comfort with the practical needs of an internationally connected business hub.
Amir Golbarg, Chief Operations Officer – Middle East & Africa for Minor Hotels, described Ghana as “one of West Africa’s most dynamic and promising markets,” adding that the group looks forward to bringing the project to life alongside its development partner.
Dinesh G. Gorasiya, Chairman of Swami India Ghana Limited, framed the signing as a strategic commitment to “premium, globally aligned hospitality assets” that contribute to Ghana’s broader economic growth — and expressed confidence that the property will strengthen Accra’s appeal as a destination for both business and leisure travellers.
Why It Matters
For Minor Hotels, this signing is more than a single property deal — it’s a statement of intent in a region that has long been underserved by international upper-upscale hotel brands. As African cities compete ever more fiercely for foreign investment and international visitors, developments like NH Collection Accra represent the kind of infrastructure that can shift perceptions and raise the bar for the hospitality landscape across the continent.
