The operator, which runs 21 camps and lodges across Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa, showcased its decade of conservation and community support at a Gaborone media engagement while encouraging locals to explore domestic safari experiences with significant resident discounts.
Natural Selection Safaris held a media engagement in Gaborone yesterday evening 20 October 2026 to showcase its tourism offerings and highlight its contribution to conservation and community development as it celebrates 10 years of operations in Botswana.
Establishing its presence in the country in 2016, the group now operates across Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa, with 21 safari camps and lodges in Botswana alone. These properties combine distinctive wilderness experiences with conservation and community development initiatives, positioning the company as a key player in the region’s tourism sector.
The engagement provided an opportunity for the company to showcase its tourism offerings and share insights into its conservation and community development initiatives. The Botswana Tourism Organisation‘s (BTO) attendance reflected stakeholder engagement and offered an opportunity to gain insights into the company’s contribution to Botswana’s tourism sector.
Speaking at the engagement, Natural Selection Safaris Executive Member Mr. Tebogo Boalotswe highlighted the group’s conservation and community impact. Since 2016, the company has supported more than 200 initiatives in Botswana. Through its conservation commitment, guest contributions, and partnerships, Natural Selection has invested in wildlife protection, community development, and human-wildlife coexistence.
Meanwhile, Natural Selection Safaris Marketing Manager Ms. Olivia Pheasant encouraged Batswana to explore local safari experiences, noting that resident rates offer discounts of up to 85% off international rates. She added that attracting more local guests also strengthens the company’s ability to support conservation and community initiatives.
As Natural Selection Safaris marks a decade in Botswana, its journey highlights the role of tourism businesses in linking memorable visitor experiences with meaningful conservation outcomes and community benefits. The milestone also underscores the importance of collaboration between tourism operators, communities, and conservation stakeholders in safeguarding Botswana’s natural heritage while supporting the long-term sustainability of the tourism sector.
