South Africa Mobilizes to Support Stranded Travellers Amid Global Airspace Closures

Johannesburg, South Africa — South African Tourism acknowledges the ongoing global flight disruptions and cancellations tied to evolving conditions in the Middle East and related airspace closures, which are affecting international travel routes to and from South Africa.

We’re working closely with aviation authorities, airlines, and tourism partners to track developments and ensure timely support for affected travellers. Always confirm your flight status directly with your airline or travel agent before heading to the airport.

Affected guests are urged to contact their booking providers for rebooking options. As Dr. Shamilla Chettiar, Acting CEO of South African Tourism, emphasized: “In the spirit of ubuntu, our industry will rally to support travellers — reflecting our humanity and commitment to being a welcoming, responsive destination.”
