Visit Rwanda, Atletico Madrid FC Launch EOI for Youth Football Coaches Training Program
The Rwanda Development Board (RDB), through the VISIT RWANDA partnership, in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports (MINISPORTS) and the Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA), is pleased to announce the launch of an Expression of Interest (EOI) for youth football coaches in Rwanda to apply for the “Training for Coaches Program” led by ATLETICO DE MADRID.
This initiative aims to strengthen grassroots football development in Rwanda by enhancing the technical, tactical, and pedagogical skills of local youth coaches, in line with international standards and best practices. Selected coaches will benefit from structured technical support and mentorship over the course of one full football season, under the guidance and methodology of Academia Atlético de Madrid.
Program Objectives
- Develop high-quality youth football coaching capacity in Rwanda
- Transfer Academia Atlético de Madrid’s professional coaching methodology to local coaches
- Improve youth player development pathways nationwide
- Contribute to the long-term growth and competitiveness of Rwandan football
Who Can Apply
The Expression of Interest is open to:
- Rwandan football coaches actively involved in youth football development
- Coaches affiliated with academies, schools, clubs, or community programs
- Coaches demonstrating strong motivation, commitment, and potential for impact
Program Benefits
Selected coaches will receive:
- Technical and methodological training based on Atlético de Madrid’s coaching philosophy
- Season-long accompaniment and mentoring
- Exposure to international coaching standards
- Periodically travel to Madrid to participate in hands-on training sessions at the Academia Atlético de Madrid.
- Certification or official recognition
Application Process
Interested coaches are invited to download and complete the official Expression of Interest form at the link here and submit a complete application file to partnership@rdb.rw by Wednesday, 21 January.
An assessment of the applications followed by a technical evaluation will complete the selection process. The number of coaches selected will be announced later.
