World Travel Awards 2026: Global Call for Entries Now Open

The World Travel Awards (WTA) has officially opened its Call for Entries for 2026, inviting travel, tourism, and hospitality organisations worldwide to compete for the industry’s most prestigious ultimate hallmark of excellence. 

Organisations demonstrating market-leading standards are encouraged to apply. The WTA application process is streamlined, with all entries submitted directly via the official website. 

Award Categories & Eligibility

This year’s awards encompass the full spectrum of the global travel sector, including: 

  • Aviation: Airlines and airports.
  • Accommodations: Hotels, resorts, and boutique stays.
  • Travel Services: Destinations, tourist attractions, car rentals, travel agencies, and tour operators. 

Key Submission Deadlines

Entry deadlines vary by region to accommodate the 2026 Grand Tour schedule: 

  • 1 February 2026: Deadline for organisations in the Middle East and Indian Ocean.
  • 22 March 2026: Deadline for organisations in Africa, Asia, Caribbean, Central America, Europe, North America, Oceania, and South America

The Voting Process

Voting begins shortly after regional entry windows close. Under the WTA voting system

  • Industry Professionals: Votes from verified travel executives carry a weighting of two.
  • Public & Media: The general public can also participate, with their votes carrying a weighting of one.
  • First-Past-the-Post: The nominee with the most votes in their category is declared the winner. 

The Path to the Grand Final

Winners from the regional gala ceremonies progress to the Grand Final, where they compete against other regional champions for the coveted World titles. The 2026 Grand Final is currently slated to be held in Tanzania
