Zambia Tourism Agency CEO Honored at 2025 Zambian Man of the Year Awards
The Zambia Tourism Agency (ZTA) is proud to announce that its Chief Executive Officer, Matongo Matamwandi, has been honoured with two distinguished awards at the 2025 Zambian Man of the Year Awards in Best Director Corporate and Man of the Year Categories.
These accolades recognise Mr. Matamwandi’s transformative leadership and strategic vision that continue to redefine Zambia’s tourism landscape. Under his leadership, ZTA has rolled out impactful initiatives such as the global tourism promotion campaigns on Expedia and BBC, and the Holiday Yamu Loko domestic tourism campaign, all aimed at positioning Zambia as a competitive and preferred destination both local and internationally.
Mr. Matamwandi crowned it all by receiving the overall Man of the Year award, a testament to his outstanding commitment and transformative leadership within the tourism and corporate sectors.
In his acceptance speech, he underscored the vital role of the tourism sector in Zambia’s economy, stating, “Imagine Zambia without mining, it’s tourism.” He further reaffirmed ZTA’s commitment to achieving 3 million international tourist arrivals by 2026 through sustained marketing, strategic partnerships, and enhanced destination visibility.
The Corporate Director of the Year Award celebrates his exemplary corporate governance and strategic leadership at the helm of ZTA, while the Man of the Year Award recognises his broader contribution as a visionary leader driving national development through tourism.
