ZIMBABWE: LIKUKUMA REVERTS TO ADVISORY ROLE AS ZTA BOARD APPOINTS CHIDZIDZI AS ACTING CHIEF EXECUTIVE
August 22, 2019
The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority board would like to advise that Mr Givemore Chidzidzi has been appointed as the organisation’s Acting Chief Executive with immediate effect.
Mr Chidzidzi takes over after Economist, Mrs Rita Likukuma, who was seconded by the board to temporarily take charge of the organisation’s executive affairs after the Chief Executive, Dr Karikoga Kaseke, fell ill. Likukuma has reverted to her non executive role in the authority’s board. Likukuma had been leading the organisation on an acting basis with effect from the first of February 2019.
The ZTA Deputy Board Chairman, Dr Precious Sibiya, would like to thank Mrs Likukuma for her valuable contribution to the organisation during her tenure. “Since her secondment, Rita has played a critical role in the development and success of the organization, and while we will miss her in the executive structures, we believe that her inspiring leadership we will continue to be valuable once again in the board” she said.
“In the same vein, I would like to congratulate Givemore for this appointment as the Acting Chief Executive. We as the board, are confident in him and the executive team at the ZTA that they will continue to restore the important contribution tourism makes to the economy,” she said.
