Ministers, Diplomats and Investors Set for Clevenard Open Project 2026
Alicante prepares to host global tourism leaders for Clevenard Open Project 2026
Alicante, Spain — The international tourism community will converge on Alicante this August for the Clevenard Open Project 2026 (5th Edition) and the Clevenard Global Awards (3rd Edition), organisers announced. The four‑day summit runs from 27–30 August 2026 at the Palacio de Congresos de Alicante and promises high-level dialogue on tourism development, investment, sustainability and international cooperation.
The event is expected to attract a wide cross‑section of the sector: tourism ministers and government officials, ambassadors and diplomats, investors, industry entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, tourism boards, regional organisations, academics, media professionals and emerging start‑ups. Organisers say the Clevenard Open Project is fast becoming one of Europe’s most dynamic international platforms, bringing influential voices from Africa, Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Caribbean together in one forum.
A roster of prominent speakers has already been announced. Among those due to appear are:
- Hon. Mai Mala Buni, CON, Executive Governor of Yobe State, Nigeria;
- Ambassador Alain St. Ange, Ambassador‑at‑Large of the Republic of Seychelles and former Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine;
- Ms. Lilly Ajarova, Tourism Advisor to the President of Uganda and former CEO of the Uganda Tourism Board;
- Ms. Sibongile Winnie Mavimbela, South African environmental expert, climate diplomat and human rights advocate;
- Dr. Abulfas M. Garayev, former Minister of Tourism of Azerbaijan and an authority in culture and intercultural diplomacy;
- His Excellency Mr. Nico Barito, Special Envoy of the President of Seychelles to ASEAN and Founder and Executive Chairman of FORSEAA;
- Hon Edmund Bartlett, OJ, CD, MP, Minister of Tourism of Jamaica.

Organisers say the invited leaders will deliver keynote addresses and take part in panels and roundtables on topics that include destination branding, sustainable tourism, investment and entrepreneurship, innovation and media, and tourism diplomacy. The programme is designed to give participants direct access to policymakers, thought leaders and investors shaping the future of travel and hospitality.
Event materials underline the range of opportunities on offer: business networking, cultural exchange, investment matchmaking and sessions intended to foster international partnerships and practical initiatives for sustainable growth. Additional world‑class speakers, government dignitaries, entertainers and delegates are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
“Connecting Nations. Empowering Leaders. Creating Global Opportunities,” reads the event tagline. With preparations underway across Alicante, organisers hope the summit will deliver four days of learning, collaboration and transformational conversations that advance tourism, trade and international development.
Tickets and further programme details are expected to be published on the Clevenard Open Project’s official channels in the weeks ahead.
