Anantara Breaks Into Travel + Leisure’s Top 5 Hotel Brands in 2026 Awards
Minor Hotels is celebrating a standout showing in the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2026, with Anantara Hotels & Resorts earning its highest-ever ranking among the world’s best hotel brands and four of the group’s properties named among the World’s 100 Best Hotels.
The annual readers’ survey, which is widely regarded as a key measure of traveller preference, placed Anantara at No. 5 in the Best Hotel Brands category, up from No. 8 last year. The result marks a major milestone for the experiential luxury brand as it continues to expand its global profile.
Minor Hotels also improved its presence in the Top 100 Hotels list, with four properties featured this year compared with three in 2025. Leading the group’s performance were two of its Tanzania safari lodges: Elewana The Manor at Ngorongoro at No. 14 and Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp at No. 21.


In Thailand, Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort ranked No. 37, while Anantara Layan Phuket Resort secured No. 81. The results reflect Minor Hotels’ broad appeal across safari, beach and wellness-led experiences.
Group CEO Dillip Rajakarier said the recognition was a strong endorsement of the experiences delivered by the company’s teams every day. He added that the results demonstrate both the strength of the group’s brands and its commitment to creating meaningful travel experiences.
Minor Hotels also recorded strong regional results. The Royal Livingstone Victoria Falls Zambia Hotel by Anantara was named No. 2 Best Resort in Africa, while Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort placed No. 2 Best Resort in Thailand and No. 13 Best Resort in Asia. Anantara Layan Phuket Resort was ranked No. 4 Best Resort in Thailand, and Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky Amsterdam came in at No. 5 Best Hotel in Amsterdam.
