Anniey has a tourism management background with direct experience inside the East African tourism ecosystem. She worked at Ecotourism Kenya in PR, Communications and Marketing — developing advocacy materials and positioning ecotourism as a development tool. She worked at the East Africa Tourism Platform as Programme Assistant — regional tourism research, stakeholder engagement, cross-border tourism strategy, and communications. She then moved into the NGO and development sector, working in community development, fundraising, communications, and organisational strategy — giving her a development lens that most tourism consultants do not have.
