St. Ange to Keynote Oxford Global Diplomat Summit Ahead of Mandela Leadership Awards Launch
Ambassador Alain St. Ange of the Seychelles will deliver the keynote address at the Oxford Global Diplomat Summit & Dialogue on September 7 at the Lord Mayor’s Cabinet Office in Oxford, in the presence of the Lord Mayor of Oxford.
Focus on Tourism and International Relations
Organisers have invited St. Ange to attend as a Guest of Honour and keynote speaker, with a focus on tourism and international relations. His address will explore the theme, “Tourism as a Bridge Between Nations: Advancing Cultural Diplomacy, Global Connectivity and Sustainable Growth.” Drawing on his experience in Seychelles tourism and international cooperation, St. Ange is expected to speak on the role of tourism in strengthening cultural ties, widening economic opportunity, and building closer relations between nations.
Launch of Nelson Mandela Leadership Awards 2026
The summit will also serve as the launch platform for the Nelson Mandela Leadership Awards 2026, an international initiative recognising outstanding leadership and global impact. St. Ange has been invited to attend that event as a Guest of Honour. The international gathering is dedicated to celebrating exceptional leadership, achievement and global impact, and will bring together prominent leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, innovators and distinguished professionals from around the world.
“Honoured to Represent Seychelles”
Responding to the invitation, St. Ange said he was honoured to represent Seychelles at the gathering. “As a son of the mid-ocean islands of the Seychelles,” he said, “I look forward to bringing my country’s perspective to Oxford.”
St.Ange, who was appointed Ambassador-at-Large for the Republic of Seychelles in April 2026, has long been associated with the country’s tourism sector, having previously served as Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine. His recent engagements include delivering the inaugural keynote at the Clevenard Open Project 2026 in Alicante, Spain, where he called for a more responsible and sustainable approach to global tourism.
