Zambia Opens 2026 Citizen & Resident Hunting Season with Raffle Winners Announcement
Lusaka, Zambia — The Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW), operating under the Ministry of Tourism, has officially opened the 2026 Citizen and Established Resident Hunting Season as of September 2, 2026.
Following the completion of the public raffle draw, successful applicants can now proceed with required licensing, permit processing, and fee payments in line with national regulations. Authorities reminded all participants to adhere strictly to the Zambia Wildlife Act No. 14 of 2015 to support sustainable conservation and ethical hunting practices.

- Luawata: 22 main allocations, 3 reserves
- Nyampala: 23 main allocations, 3 reserves
- Mwanya: 20 main allocations, 2 reserves
- Chifunda: 12 main allocations, 3 reserves
- Kasonso Busanga: 8 main allocations, 3 reserves
- Chikwa: 8 main allocations, 2 reserves
- Lower Lupande: 7 main allocations, 3 reserves
- Mulobezi: 8 main allocations, 3 reserves
- Mumbwa West: 5 main allocations, 2 reserves
- Chanjuzi: 5 main allocations, 2 reserves
- Upper Lupande: 4 main allocations, 1 reserve

In total, the DNPW allocated 135 primary winner slots and 32 reserve slots across 15 designated hunting areas nationwide.
