Alain St. Ange Named Guest of Honour for 2026 AFASU Awards in Egypt
Celebrated tourism global icon and Ambassador At Large of Seychelles to deliver key address in Cairo
Victoria, Seychelles — Seychelles Ambassador At Large, Alain St. Ange who is also a former Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine is heading to Cairo, Egypt, on a high-profile working mission. St. Ange has been named the ‘Guest of Honour’ for the upcoming 2026 Afro-Asian Union (AFASU) International Golden Award Ceremony.
The Ambassador is scheduled to depart Seychelles on June 12, 2026, to participate in two major back-to-back events taking place in the Egyptian capital on June 13 and 14.
Showcasing the Seychelles Success Story
The official invitation from AFASU underlines St. Ange’s deep industry expertise and international standing, noting that his presence offers a premier platform to share regional insights with a global audience. The Union stated:
“Your exceptional leadership, profound expertise, and global recognition in the fields of hospitality and tourism have singled you out to be the Guest of Honour at this landmark event. Your presence will provide a magnificent opportunity to showcase the Seychelles’ tourism success story to our distinguished attendees, as well as to the prominent Egyptian and Middle Eastern media network.”
In addition to attending the hospitality awards, Ambassador St. Ange will deliver an address to delegates, highlighting the strategies that have made Seychelles a global blueprint for tourism and sustainable management.
Honoring Influential Arab Media
The second day of the mission will focus on the powerful intersection of media and tourism development. On June 14, Ambassador St. Ange will join top Egyptian officials to present awards honoring influential Arab media figures who have shaped the landscape of regional tourism.
St. Ange will present the awards alongside:
- Major General Dr. Khaled Fouda, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Egypt for Development & Heritage, former Governor of South Sinai, and Honorary President of AFASU.
- Dr. Hossam Darwish, President of AFASU.
The collaborative mission underscores Seychelles’ active role in international tourism diplomacy and strengthens cultural and economic bridges across the Afro-Asian region.
