Alain St. Ange to Receive Back-to-Back Tourism Honours in Lagos & London Ahead of Malaga Summit

The recently appointed Chairman of the Clevenard Open Project 2027 will be honored with an Honorary Award at Hospitality Awards Africa 2026 in Nigeria before receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Africa Tourism Awards in the UK.

It has been confirmed that Ambassador Alain St. Ange, the recently appointed Chairman for the Clevenard Open Project 2027, will receive two prestigious tourism awards in consecutive weeks. The Ambassador at Large for the Republic of Seychelles is being recognized by leading world tourism bodies, marking a positive development for his upcoming role leading the June 2027 event in Malaga, Spain.

Honoring Excellence in African Hospitality

The first recognition comes from Hospitality Awards Africa 2026, which will present Ambassador St. Ange with its ‘Honorary Award’ on October 24, 2026, at the Sheraton Lagos in Nigeria. The award recognizes his outstanding leadership, distinguished service, and significant contributions to the hospitality and tourism industry across Africa.

In their correspondence, the Hospitality Awards Africa noted: “This Honorary Award acknowledges your professional excellence, commitment to industry development, and lasting impact on the hospitality sector. The Board and Judges of Hospitality Awards Africa proudly recognize and commend your contribution and dedication to advancing hospitality excellence across Africa.”

A Lifetime Achievement Recognition in London

Shortly after the Lagos ceremony, Ambassador St. Ange will travel to the UK to receive the coveted Lifetime Achievement Award at the Africa Tourism Awards 2026 (The Balearica Awards). The ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, November 1, 2026 at the Hilton London Canary Wharf Hotel.

The Africa Tourism Awards described the honor as their most prestigious recognition, reserved for individuals whose “vision, dedication, and lifelong contributions have profoundly shaped and elevated African tourism.” The organization praised St. Ange’s “outstanding career, pioneering advocacy, and unwavering commitment,” noting that his work has inspired generations and left a lasting legacy for the entire industry.

A Tribute to Teamwork and Peace

Ambassador St. Ange expressed humility at the continuous recognitions from the global tourism community. He emphasized that these honors reflect collective efforts rather than individual achievement.

“These recognitions are a reminder of the work we did as a Team in Seychelles, in a public-private sector partnership, to put Seychelles on the international tourism map,” said Ambassador St. Ange. “These recognitions are also for the work I did with colleagues around Africa and in the ASEAN Block for tourism as a needed industry for economic development and as a vehicle for promoting peace.”

He added that he remains proud of his journey and believes deeply in what Seychelles offers—not just its islands, but its people and culture—while hoping to continue contributing to tourism development both at home and abroad.

Leading the Clevenard Open Project 2027

These awards underscore the momentum behind Ambassador St. Ange’s new appointment as Chairman of the 6th Edition of the Clevenard Open Project. Scheduled for June 22–25, 2027 in Torremolinos, Málaga, Spain, the event will run alongside the 4th Clevenard Global Awards and the 5th Clevenard Global Fashion Summit. His leadership marks a significant chapter for Clevenard as it continues to unite global leaders in business, culture, tourism, fashion, investment, and media.
